Introduction
The Information and Systems Technology Division (IST) of our client requests assistance in building a Web based training system built in Visual Studio 2008 and SQL Server 2005 and building a new client application using Visual Studio 2008 custom legal workflow case tracking System.
Background
The group develops custom software for use within our Client. We have developed numerous database and barcoding applications. Our project schedule has become constrained and we require assistance to complete this project within our customer’s timeline.
The group shall be using Visual Studio 2008, C#, Ajax, Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), Windows Workflow Foundation (WWF), Language Integrated Query (LINQ), and SQL Server 2005 for these applications. The Applications will be deployed on IIS within Windows Server 2008. The group wishes to minimize the software development tools it licenses as well as the methodologies and libraries it uses. The applications will use object based data access layer techniques to facilitate future interoperability with .Net 3.5 LINQ interfaces and web services. The application will use the .net role provider model. The group is also working to implement Team Foundation Server 2007 from Visual Source Safe on these projects as well
Scope
The client requests assistance in developing 2 custom software packages for its customer.
Application Programming: Assist in building of ASP.Net web pages to not use 3rd party controls. Pages will be written C#, Asp.net 3.5 and data access methods used by software development team. Assist with building a WPF client application in C# using custom workflows built using WWF. Make recommendations on common components and IS&T LinQ architecture and possible use of Entity Framework
Database: Make recommendations for database changes when converting to SQL05, LinQ, and possibly the. Assist in writing stored procedures.
Installation: Assist in writing deployment packages built in MsBuild and VSS/TFS 2007 upgrade/change control
Requirements
1. Greater than 100% of the work to be performed onsite at the client.
2. If work is to be performed by a Foreign National, 90 days advanced notice is required.
3. All developed work and work products shall be the property of LANL.
4. Work to be completed by 9/30/08.
5. Software to be developed in Visual Studio .Net 2008 using the .Net Framework 3.5 with C#., unless otherwise specified.
6. Database storage is with SQL 2005, unless otherwise specified.
7. Contractor is to be highly skilled Asp.Net and WPF, WWF, LINQ development with C# in Visual Studio 2005 and expected to work in team environment.
8. Expected is duration is up to 18 weeks but could be broken into 2 segments
9. Mentoring of team members in Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), Windows Workflow Foundation (WWF), and advanced understanding of Language Integrated Query (LINQ) design and architecture.
