Have a great Valley client looking for the perfect PM to work on their team, with a 1 year contract.
POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for the successful planning, development and execution of assigned program or multiple projects. This position provides recommendations, decision support, project management and implementation strategies for a broad array of projects that cross departments throughout the company.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
Provides consulting and assumes project/program management leadership in the design, development and implementation of projects for the company.
Responsible for project management and administration. Assist in the definition of and manages project scope, determines project goals and outcomes, assemble and validate labor estimates, technology and capital resources, and measuring and reporting performance. Determines methods and resources needed to achieve project goals, and develops a detailed work (project) plan, which includes definition, scope, staffing and financial resource allocation, priorities and target dates. Monitors progress and ensures timelines are met at major milestones using multiple SDLC methodologies, waterfall, RAD, JAD, Agile/Scrum, etc.
Coordinates activities and works collaboratively with all stakeholders across departments. Facilitates meetings to discuss issues and implementation strategies and solicit alternative points of view; facilitates problem-solving and decision-making through influence. Depending on project size and scope, may appoint ad hoc or permanent team members and directs, coordinates and leads team activities.
Responsible for the development, analysis and recommendations on key project issues and risk management. Meets internally with key internal contacts and externally with customers and suppliers as needed to identify options for management evaluation. Identifies and prioritizes issues for management visibility. Gathers and synthesizes information and performs research and analysis on project issues. Ensures adequacy of internal and external assessment.
Formulates conclusions and recommendations and develops options, including business and financial impact and how recommended course of action will achieve project goals and support company business plans. Effectively presents and justifies findings and recommendations to management and customers, as appropriate, to gain approval.
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
The position is expected to provide project and team leadership to bring key people together to discuss ideas, problem solve, resolve conflicting points of view, reach consensus and determine a course of action.
MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree with a major in business or information technology field. A minimum of eight years experience managing quality projects with progressively responsible business or information technology management experience.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
E-Commerce background is paramount. They will be building and modifying store fronts. They will also have to know INDECA search engine. Background in software development utilizing formal software development lifecycle methodologies. Experience in managing the development and deployment of Web applications is preferred. Demonstrated ability to work in a rapid application development environment. Must be able to work effectively with cross functional groups and participate in a problem-solving process. Demonstrated ability to think creatively, ability to facilitate and lead teams effectively. Must be able to react and resolve issues effectively and timely. Demonstrated strong interpersonal, project management and leadership skills. Demonstrated strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Good written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to persuade and influence others.
SPECIAL LICENSES OR CERTIFICATION
Project Management Certification preferred.
