    Database Analyst
    The Health Solutions Group is a startup business group within Microsoft, and we are on the verge of launching an innovative set of products for the healthcare industry. Database Analysts will be part of a team responsible for driving successful deployments of our new enterprise healthcare systems. You will work directly with our customers to help them build, configure, test and deploy world class systems solutions that could ultimately help save lives and improve the quality of patient care. If you like big challenges and if you want to help build systems that could dramatically impact patient’s lives, then this position is for you.

    Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    § Advise and educate customers on all database configuration activities for large scale healthcare systems implementations
    § Work closely with customers to understand their requirements and configure system appropriately
    § Assist customers with development of data views and reports
    § Troubleshoot database issues that arise during deployments
    § Help customers establish processes to manage and maintain systems post-deployment
    § Assist with server hardware planning and configuration for optimal system performance
    § Provide input to the development team on product enhancements to further streamline future deployments

    Ideal candidates will have the following knowledge, qualifications and experience:
    § 3 to 5 years of professional work experience using Microsoft SQL Server version 2000/2005
    § Development and/or maintenance of very large-scale database applications
    § Experience performing database analysis and design
    § Writing SQL queries, stored procedures and triggers
    § Configuring systems for clustering and backup/restore processes
    § Familiarity with Windows 2003 Server administration and Windows Active Directory
    § Effective written and verbal communication skills, with both technical and non-technical audiences
    § Ability to evaluate and interpret end user information requirements, and to develop and implement appropriate technical solutions
    § Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
    § Thorough understanding of client-server, 2- and 3- tier systems.
    § Healthcare industry background a plus
    § 30-50% nationwide travel required
    § Bachelor’s degree required
